Four years ago, Laurie Alexander, a Board Member of NCJW Palm Beach, initiated a fruitful partnership with Deborah Morgan, CEO of Palm Beach Harvest, an organization dedicated to feeding approximately 64,000 food-insecure individuals multiple times per week. Year after year, we have persisted in meeting our targets and making a tangible impact in our communities.
In March 2024, new Co-chairs, Margie Greenberg and Leslie DeNino, supported by Paula Harris, spearheaded a significant initiative at The Club at Ibis. With the help of Neighborhood Captains, close to 400 bags of ingredients to create a deliciously nourishing Lentil Vegetable Soup, which would feed 4800 children and families, were delivered to the Palm Beach Harvest trucks awaiting our delivery.
Immense gratitude goes to the store management and staff of Publix at the Shoppes at Ibis for consistently setting up a vibrant display of soup ingredients at the store entrance, making it convenient for our volunteers to do their shopping.
As we provide Soup for the Soul to those in need, our spirits are uplifted by the satisfaction of performing a mitzvah, a good deed.
Soup for the Soul was highlighted this month in Ibis’ Stroll magazine. We were immensely grateful for this publicity.
