Our Panel Discussion on “Church and State Together: Effect on Antisemitism” Was a Huge Success!

On May 12th, NCJW Palm Beach hosted a panel discussion with three extraordinary speakers at Wycliffe Country Club. The theme of the discussion brought together Barbara Pariente, attorney and former Florida Supreme Court Justice who spoke on the legal history of the separation of church and state through current law and pending legislation, Rabbi Merrill Shapiro, past president of the National Board of Trustees of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, who covered the sobering history of antisemitism, the ideologies which call for the overtaking of societal institutions including government and education, to establish a nation governed by biblical law, as well as Bacardi Jackson, Executive Director of the ACLU of Florida, who gave an inspiring call for activism.
The more than 70 attendees were overwhelmingly positive in their reactions to this panel discussion.
We would like to thank Sandy Kaltman and Stephanie Citerman, Co-VPs of Advocacy, for bringing this exceptional event to NCJW Palm Beach.
