Our Panel Discussion on “Church and State Together: Effect on Antisemitism” Was a Huge Success!
On May 12th, NCJW Palm Beach hosted a panel discussion with three extraordinary speakers at Wycliffe Country Club.
The theme of the discussion brought together Barbara Pariente, attorney and former Florida Supreme Court Justice who spoke on the legal history of the separation of church and state through current law and pending legislation, Rabbi Merrill Shapiro, past president of the National Board of Trustees of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, who covered the sobering history of antisemitism, the ideologies which call for the overtaking of societal institutions including government and education, to establish a nation governed by biblical law, as well as Bacardi Jackson, Executive Director of the ACLU of Florida, who gave an inspiring call for activism.
The more than 70 attendees were overwhelmingly positive in their reactions to this panel discussion.
We would like to thank Sandy Kaltman and Stephanie Citerman, Co-VPs of Advocacy, for bringing this exceptional event to NCJW Palm Beach.

Reproductive Freedom is a Jewish Value
This year, in honor of Repro Shabbat, members of NCJW Palm Beach wrote postcards directed at the Department of Health and Human Services requesting to keep medication abortion available.
On land and on sea, our members took the time to send hundreds of postcards.
Human Trafficking
We are thrilled to announce that Judy Traub was a co-recipient of the Human Trafficking Coalition’s Outstanding Community Support Award.
This honor recognizes an organization or individual that has turned advocacy into impact.
It was presented for the work which NCJW has collectively done in advancing anti-trafficking legislation, mobilizing volunteers for prevention and outreach, and investing meaningful resources to meet survivor needs.
Congratulations to Judy!

Join the National Council of Jewish Women in the Jewish communal pledge to support abortion access. Our voices are needed now more than ever! The US Supreme Court is considering two abortion cases this term that could have a catastrophic impact on medication abortion and federal emergency abortion care. These cases threaten what is left of federal abortion access. With a patchwork of state laws restricting and/or banning abortion, we need access to medication abortion — the most common method of abortion and the easiest to access for most people — and we need federal protections that allow for emergency abortion care. We know that a majority of the Jewish community supports abortion. Now, more than ever, we must raise our Jewish voices in support of abortion because of religion, not in spite of it. Join NCJW to pledge your support for abortion access.
First, we rallied, and now we act.
NCJW’s Jewish Fund for Abortion Access in partnership with the National Abortion Federation will provide direct support to people seeking abortion care through the nation’s largest abortion hotline, case management, coverage of travel and related expenses, and medical care.
