On March 28th, more than 60 NCJW members and community supporters attended the third part of our Women of Wisdom series, Israel at War: Women’s Voices.
Zooming in from Israel were:

Eliya Attali, a 25-year-old combat paramedic with the IDF who was called upon to serve in Gaza and the surrounding area until recently. The only woman in a unit of 600 men, Eliya was a first responder treating injured soldiers in the field.

Jessica Elter is a 28-year-old law student studying in Ramat Gan. A social influencer and model, Jessica is driven to tell the world the story of her boyfriend, Ben Shimoni, who was killed while rescuing people from the Supernova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im and help keep his memory alive.

Kalela Lancaster, NCJW’s representative in Israel who related to us that NCJW was one of the first organizations on the ground following October 7. She leads NCJW’s strategy to strengthen the Israeli feminist field through capacity building and philanthropic initiatives.

Honey Levy, in person, is a cultural emissary bringing Israeli culture and history to the Palm Beaches, headquartered at Federation of the Palm Beaches.

These women brought first person commentary to the war in Gaza. As heart wrenching as their stories were, it was important for us to bear witness to their testimonies.
Our deepest thanks go out to Robin Sambur, Sandy Kaltman, Stephanie Citerman, and their Advocacy team for bringing this important event to our Section.
