Since the recent 60 Minutes program in which the Facebook whistleblower, Frances Haugen, described practices that put corporate profits over safety of youth, especially young girls, the subject of media safety has been front and center in the news. We have produced a powerful presentation on the subject that is perfect for audiences of parents and grandparents. They need to know the dangers and risks to both boys and girls younger than 18 years old on the internet. We would like to bring our free presentation to your community, to your temple or synagogue, to a community group or organization in which you participate. Our presentation covers apps, traffickers; techniques including grooming, fake ads, gaming, sexting, sextortion and cyberbullying. References for internet safety are also included to help keep our children safe.
Did you know that:
- In the past year, online exploitation of children nearly doubled?
- 75% of survivors of trafficking report that they had been sold through online trafficking operations?
- Do you want to know how to keep our kids safe from online predators?
NCJW Palm Beach section is offering a free program that covers risks, protections and resources for apps, gaming, and social media.
