The Lewis Center is a transitional homeless shelter which prepares its residents for work and independent living. During their 3 month program, they receive vocational, medical, and social support services to make success possible.
Our wonderful NCJW Palm Beach volunteers have been busy serving two dinners a month since December because we have so many members willing and able to serve.
Sometimes, visiting relatives and friends share the good feeling of passing a plate of nutritious food across the counter. The residents are always thankful and appreciative.
With the snowbirds heading north, however, we are depending on our full-time residents to fill the gap. It only takes a few hours of your time (5:30-7:00 plus driving time) but the benefits are immeasurable. Maybe YOU will choose to volunteer on one of these Summer dates:
Thursday, June 25
Thursday, August 27
Thursday, July 23
Thursday, September 24
Thursday, October 22

On May 18th, Christene Campbell Gabor, Gail Siegel, and Helene Askinazi, all from the Villaggio community, served a well-received dinner to the residents.
