Soup For The SoulDuring the month of April, two of our communities participated in the collection of our green bags filled with the ingredients for Lentil Vegetable soup.
Ilene Leefer, in her second year working with her community, Buena Vida, collected over 120 bags of soup ingredients! An amazing job, Ilene!

Elyse Deitch worked with her friends in the Indian Spring community and collected over 30 bags for soup distribution to food-insecure residents of Palm Beach County. In addition, volunteers donated $240 to purchase additional ingredients. We plan to have Chef Richard purchase soup ingredients with this contribution and distribute the soup in a needy neighborhood designated by Deborah Morgan, Palm Beach Harvest’s CEO.

In the past 6 months, we have fed over 5,300 food-insecure children and adults. Inch by inch, we continue with our acts of kindness! Thank you to all!

Next season, Margie Greenberg, a new NCJW member living in Ibis, will head up our Ibis collection. Assisting her will be Ibis residents and new members Paula Harris, Roni Stern, and Leslie DeNino. In addition, to this mighty group of volunteers, Jon Hazman, another Ibis volunteer, will be joining us.

I am personally ecstatic that we have so many new members stepping up to expand this incredibly important program.

Our deepest thanks go out to the Sheldon Bearman Foundation for their continued support of Soup for the Soul with their donation of $2500.
