The Palm Beach Section is proud to announce that we recently received a generous gift from Publix Super Market Charities. This grant has been designated for “NCJW’s Weekend Pantry”.
Palm Beach County ranks #2 in Florida for children living in spaces not designated for human habitation. 90% of students in Title 1 schools are fed breakfast and lunch each day but there is no means for them to receive food on weekends or during vacations. Our “Weekend Pantry” will provide chronically hungry children with nutritious, easy to prepare food at times when other resources are not available. Because of Publix’s generous gift, it will ensure that several children amongst the thousands that are affected by homelessness will return to school on Monday or after a holiday, fed and ready to learn.
