Kids Community Closets are secure closets located inside 18 Palm Beach County public elementary schools established to meet the emergency clothing needs of students. Our closets provide children with proper school attire so students are more likely to attend with self-confidence and are less likely to be victims of bullying. The closets are stocked with new clothing including boys’ and girls’ shorts, collared shirts, socks underwear, pants and sweatshirts.
Please consider donating a few hours two to three times a year and become a Kids Community Closets volunteer liaison. Skills required include sorting and counting, and a desire to help children feel good about themselves and succeed in school. You and a partner will be assigned to a local elementary school and asked to visit up to three times a year: November, early March and late May. At the time of your visit, you will take a hands-on inventory of the clothing in the closet. You fill out the form and send it to us.
