Do minors know who they are really talking to?

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month
In recognition of January’s designation as Human Trafficking Awareness month, members of our Human Trafficking Education and Awareness Committee will be making presentations to City Councils throughout the county on the techniques traffickers use to recruit minors for labor or sexual services. They will also explain sextortion and the dangers of the threats the perpetrators make that have resulted in some victims committing suicide.

Members making the presentations will leave behind the NCJW pamphlet on Sextortion as well as information on the free presentations we can make to anyone working with minors in their community.

We have a busy schedule of trafficking presentations in January, including presentations in English, Spanish and Creole at the Lake Park Library, a presentation in South Palm Beach, and one to the Soroptomists in Port Saint Lucie. Thank you to all our volunteers. If you would like to get involved in our trafficking education and awareness efforts, please contact Judy Traub at humantrafficking@ncjwpalmbeach.org.
