“Womansplaining” A project of Bonot Alternativa (building an alternative), The College for Law and Business, & The Law Professors’ Forum for DemocracyDrawing on the vast network of the Bonot Alternativa grassroots protest movement, combined with the legal expertise of the other partners, this is a nationwide initiative to educate women in local community groups about their rights as enshrined in Israeli law and the dangers posed specifically to women’s rights by legislation proposed by the current government.
The Coalition for Reproductive Rights in Israel: 19 Israeli NGOs and leading activists.
The political atmosphere in Israel has become increasingly more hostile to women’s rights since the November elections. The new government includes ministers who have expressed anti-abortion views and women’s groups are concerned that they will seek to limit access to reproductive rights and healthcare in Israel. This coalition will plan for various political/legislative scenarios which may threaten reproductive freedom, lobby politicians, monitor abortion access and raise awareness amongst the general public about the dangers.
