There’s never a lull for the Co-VPs of Heads Smart in their mission to educate the public about bicycle safety and proper helmet usage.

Over the summer, Marsha presented the program at her granddaughter’s preschool in Mt. Kisco, NY. Marsha told her personal story of loss as well as Ilene’s experience of a helmet saving her life after a fall. The program was so well received that the Director of the preschool asked for a repeat performance next year.

Back here in Florida, Marsha and Ilene are working with Forest Hills Elementary School in Palm Springs to bring both their bicycle safety program, as well as their “You Must be Present to Win” attendance competition to the school. Helmets will be distributed to those students who self-identify as in need of a helmet. To date, Heads Smart has distributed over 1,000 helmets.

Heads Smart’s reputation is spreading and Marsha and Ilene are already booked for the 2027-28 school year.

Our Heads Smart program was recently featured in the Jewish Voice. You can read the article below.

To make this program available anywhere, Marsha and Ilene are creating a professional video of their stories and program so that it will be available wherever it is needed.

Heads Smart has partnered with the Florida Bike Association, which is run by the State, and will provide additional materials to be used on the Heads Smart website.

Heads Smart also has a working relationship with Safe Kids and Safety4Life, providing helmet education and fittings at organization events.
