his unique program provides educational instruction and experiences for children and adults in nearby schools and communities, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets which fit properly to save lives. At Liberty Park Elementary, Ilene and Marsha have presented to every class and hope to provide a free helmet to every child who needs one. It is their hope that they can continue their work at other Title 1 elementary schools in the district.
This helmet program was conceived in memory of Marsha’s son, Jonathon, who was killed in a bicycle accident in 1988, before helmets were mandated by law.
Help is needed to expand this program.
