On Wednesday, December 5, the Advocacy Committee presented “Do We Need A Miracle? The Federal Courts and the Second Amendment”, featuring Hannah Shearer, Staff Attorney & Second Amendment Litigation Director, Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, along with Florida State Senator Lori Berman and Palm Beach county advocate Arlene Ustin. Each spoke from their own perspective about what would be necessary to effect change in enacting gun safety policies and laws. The presentation was well received by the 100+ in attendance, and a thought-provoking question and answer period followed the presentation.

The Committee’s focus in the coming months will be on legislative advocacy both in Tallahassee and in Washington, D.C., as well as a spring program in the works on diversity and building community.

A huge kudos and THANK YOU to the group who put this event together: Caren Freigenberg, Robin Sambur and Linda Geller-Schwartz, whose efforts really delivered a great event.
