Music & Memory is all about bringing joy into the lives of people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as a wide range of cognitive and physical impairments.
The program’s approach is simple, elegant and effective: we set up personalized music playlist of IPods. These musical favorites tap deep memories not lost to dementia and can reawaken the individual, enabling them to feel like themselves again, converse, socialize and stay present.
What we are asking of you is to look around your house and also to ask your children, grandchildren, neighbors, etc. if they have any unused (but working) or outdated IPods, chargers and headphones that they would be willing to donate to this amazing program. This would help defray the costs to the individual and will help declutter your house at the same time. A win-win situation.
